Things to Do in Vancouver on Canada Day - Inside Vancouver BlogInside Vancouver Blog. What's open and closed on Canada Day | CTV News

Kitchen Open with Dinner Features Available. Special Guest Performances. Music by Dj Dennis Kindle. Directed by project creator Fay Nass and Chelsea Haberlin, the site-specific, immersive theatrical work is a day-in-the-life exploration of the cultural mosaic of a Vancouver coffee shop, welcoming audience members to bear witness to the private conversations and experiences of seven unique pairings.

Drag and dinner you say? Well why not? Hope to see you there. A Fundraiser for the Friends for Life Society. Tickets only available at the door. This show happens every Wednesday evening where you can have some delicious eats, campy cocktails and some great laughs.

There are some campgrounds that would act as a base for overnight hiking where you would leave your car or you may be able to leave your car at a designated parking spot at the trail head you are using, but I would check into that. Here is a link with more info on backcountry camping and hiking in Banff National Park. If you have any questions send Parks Canada an email, they are usually quick to respond.

The lady charged us CAD Somehow, we feel she overcharged us, since we are seniors. What should we do? We still have the receipt. Will you ever be traveling into the parks in the future with more than just yourself and your wife in the vehicle? The pass you just purchased is good for two years this time, instead of just one year.

You can email and inquire at information pc. This is an excellent website!! I want to buy the seasonal pass good for this year and next Do we need one pass per person, or only one pass for the vehicle? Thanks very much. If you will be traveling into the parks in the future in a vehicle you might want to buy the family annual pass. It will cover both of you on the motorcycle for this trip. Then you can use it for this year and next for up to 7 people in one vehicle. Otherwise you can buy one adult annual pass for yourself and another pass for your friend.

I had not thought about traveling into the parks on a motorcycle and displaying the pass. I made a quick call to the Banff visitor center and they said you can take it with you instead of displaying it on the motorcycle since someone could steal it. Thank you so much for clarifying this for us! I really appreciate your information and this entire website. My wife and I will be staying in the park for several days.

We will be driving down from Jasper to leave through Banff on the way to Calgary and I would imagine that we will end up exiting the park at pm that evening. From the description of your travels and timing, yes you will need to have a valid pass for the last day for those 3 to 4 hours.

They give the extra time to 4pm the next day as a courtesy. So if you plan to be exiting Banff National Park at 7 or 8pm that tells me you will still be on the Icefields Parkway past 4pm, or spending time in Banff National Park doing something other than just driving out of it?

The Icefields Parkway requires a valid park pass just for the simple act of driving on it whether you are stopping or not. Banff National Park differs in that if you are not stopping at all, which means no stopping to take a photo, not stopping at a viewpoint to admire the view, not stopping in the town of Banff for any reason, not going to Lake Louise, etc. The Icefields Parkway is considered a scenic roadway, not an essential transportation route and requires a pass at all times.

Hope that makes sense. Cheers, Audrey. My husband and I will be arriving in the Banff area on Wednesday in 2 days from Calgary…around 3 pm. Do we have to pay for the whole day to cover that hour between 3 and 4 on our way straight to Lake Louise?

Thank you for any info. Robin from Montreal. Not sure what you mean to cover the hour between between 3 and 4 to Lake Louise? Lake Louise is in Banff National Park. You need a park pass to go to Lake Louise and it needs to be valid for the entire time you are at Lake Louise or any other area of the park.

How do you suggest displaying our annual pass while touring the parks on our motorcycle? Would it be valid to leave a photocopy of the pass with the bike as we hike and sightsee? Here, you can wander through the forest, cross a stunning suspension bridge, and catch views of the cascading waterfalls below.

Unlike Capilano Suspension Bridge, Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge is free to enter and can be accessed from multiple different trails in the area. We rented e-bikes to get here from Downtown and really enjoyed walking the trails and admiring the peaceful pathways.

If you plan to go on a weekend, I would highly recommend going early in the morning as the park gets very busy in the afternoons. Granville Island, located just off the shore of downtown Vancouver, is a small island accessible by boat or by vehicle. From the Vancouver Aquatic Center, there is a small pedestrian ferry that makes the short trip across the water approximately every 5 minutes.

Once you arrive, you will find colourful markets and bustling food vendors around every corner. Take a stroll inside the Granville Island Public Market building for everything from fresh seafood to homemade baked goods. Speaking of markets, this trendy little spot in North Vancouver gave me mad Granville Island vibes. Lonsdale Quay Market, located on the north side of Vancouver Harbour, is a short Seabus ride away from downtown. In this market, you will find vendors selling fresh produce, food, and local products.

There are also several restaurants surrounding the market if you are looking for more of a sit-down meal. This is a great place to stop on your way to or from any activities in North Vancouver for a bite to eat.

Yaletown is a popular neighbourhood located near the water in downtown Vancouver. Home to hip restaurants and trendy boutiques, the streets are always buzzing with people enjoying the green spaces, outdoor patios, and artwork that lines the streets. If you are looking for a place to eat, grab a drink, or even just go to soak up a lively atmosphere, Yaletown is the place to be! North Vancouver is my personal favourite part of the entire city.

Fortunately for those of us who make the trip, this area is often skipped by tourists making it quieter and more laid back than downtown.

There are a few options to travel around North Vancouver, but my recommendation would be by e-bike. You can easily rent one near your hotel downtown and spend a day or two cruising around the parks and coastline in North Vancouver. The bike lanes are fantastic and it gives you the most freedom and flexibility. Deep Cove is a charming little comminuty located in North Vancouver.

Easily accessible by vehicle, bike, or public transport, I would highly recommend making the trip! First Aid: There are 2 first aids. One is near the parade accessible viewing zone, and one is between the Main Stage and the Stoli Stage.

Both are on grass but near a cement pathways. Harm Reduction: The staff of Vancouver Pride Society will work alongside the onsite security and the volunteers to track and analyze any incidents at the event that may put any attendee, staff or performer at risk.

Scent Reduction Policy: We ask performers and guests to refrain from wearing scented products; however, we cannot guarantee a completely scent-free space. Sensory Sensitivities: There will be loud music. There will be a low sensory tent by Canucks Autism Network and also a low sensory van by North Shore Disability Resources Centre for anyone who needs to get away from the overstimulation.

Earplugs will be provided upon request. It will be hot and bright, so please bring sunscreen and water. There may be flashing lights.

Washrooms: There will be washrooms at the event. Service animals are permitted. Some set-up will take place during the day on Saturday, July 30th with the delivery of tents, sound equipment and waste management services between the hours of ampm. On July 31st, set-up will commence at am and tear down of the event will be complete by pm. Local residents will be able to access and exit their homes along Beach Avenue but will have to turn right on Pacific to exit the area.

Traffic flow will change direction to accommodate Parade dispersal. Residents will be able to leave their home via vehicle turning left on Beach Avenue but will not be able to return until the Parade is complete. Local residents will be able to access and exit their homes along Beach Avenue. They will have to turn right on Pacific until pm. You can guarantee access with a Pride Sunday SuperPass.

Guests accessing the beer garden for free will be let in once SuperPass lineups are cleared. Taking over the main stage at the Vancouver Pride Festival, the producers of Hotlatch! Hotlatch is a celebration of our queer existence. Hailing from Vancouver, Genesis is of Swedish and Tamil heritage. She took piano lessons as a child and wrote her first song at the age of ten. She also showed a keen interest in art, and claims she was creating BDSM-themed paintings while she was still in kindergarten.

While attending art school, she studied filmmaking, but began to chafe under the restrictions of the medium and was eager to try other things. At night Cheryl is a drag entertainer who has performed all over western Canada and now mostly on Davie Street in Vancouver.
